Qazakh; a City in Azerbaijan

Qazax (also, Aghköynek, Kasach, Kasachisee, Kazakh, and Qazakh) (Urdu: قازاخ) is a city in and the capital of the Qazakh Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 20,900. 

History

In the 18th century, Qazax was the capital of the Qazakh sultanate. During Russian Empire, city was the administrative center of the Qazax uezd of Elisabethpol Governorate, 10 km from the Agstafa station of Transcaucasus Railway. Since 1930, Qazax became the administrative center of the Qazakh Rayon of Azerbaijan.Ancestors of the people who leave in Qazax come from Oguz and Aday tribes which are Turkic tribes. 

Economy

The economy of Qazakh is partially agricultural, partially tourist based, with some industries in operation.
