Cross Garden Sisian Armenia
One of the truly inspiring sights of Armenia, the Shaki Waterfall is situated 6 km from the town of Sisian. On the left side of the river Vorotan's gorge, basalt lava flows have solidified to form a ledge 18 meters high from which the waterfall cascades down, punctuating the captivating view of the gorge and creating one of the most beautiful falls in Armenia. Words alone cannot describe this pristine location, undeveloped and rustic, where the unspoiled beauty and raw power of nature merge for our eyes and ears to behold.
Situated about 3000 metres above sea level on top of Ughtasar Mountain, the Ughtasar Petroglyphs are a series of over 2000 ancient rock engravings that are between 4 to 7 thousand years old depicting everything from the animals at the time to ancient rituals, hunting scenes, religious dances, and more.
Reaching the area is for the determined, and requires access via a sturdy 4x4 as there are no real roads leading up to the region. The petroglyphs are only visible during the summer, as they are covered in snow for most of the year.
One of Armenia's least known and interesting attractions is the top of Ughtasar Mountain. Aside from the natural beauty of the mountaintop valley, the views and the small lake, there is an abundance of ancient petroglyphs aged between 4 to 7 thousand years old. Unfortunately, this is one of the most difficult places to reach, with a solid 4x4 needed and with no real roads leading up to it, compounded by a short visiting season.

Angeghakot is situated 15km west to town Sisian.People used to visit the shrine of Vardan Zoravor for centuries, make offerings to God for thanks to Vardanants war Armenians could keep their religion – Christianity. The cross-stones are spread throughout the territory of village Angeghakot and that is why people call it “Cross Garden”.
Zorats Karer also known as Karahunj, is a megalithic structure near the city of Sisian in the Syunik province of Armenia that may be as old as 7,600 years.
